Avenida Paulista holds the bank headquarters and the MASP with its suspended galleries. Below it, the old centre gathers around the Vale do Anhangabaú, the Sé cathedral and the Mercado Municipal, where people come for the mortadella sandwiches as much as for the fruit.
Ibirapuera is the green lung, Vila Madalena the district of studios and murals. The city spreads without a horizon: between one neighbourhood and the next you count in hours, not kilometres.
