The Crillon occupies one of the two palaces Gabriel designed for Louis XV, on the north side of place de la Concorde. It became a hotel in 1909 and reopened in 2017 after four years of work.
Place de la Concorde
The Grands Appartements have kept their eighteenth-century panelling. Karl Lagerfeld designed two suites, and the bar Les Ambassadeurs has its marble-columned room back. The treaty by which France recognised the United States was signed here in 1778.
Arriving by car
Place de la Concorde is a busy roundabout, so drop-off is on rue Boissy-d’Anglas, along the side of the hotel. On Bastille Day parade mornings or official ceremonies the whole area is closed for several hours.
