The village climbs towards the castle ruins, of which only a piece of tower still stands at the top of the hill. Saint-Pierre church keeps its sixteenth-century windows, the cemetery keeps its charnel galleries, and Maurice Ravel’s house can still be visited on the street that bears his name.
The N12 passes to the north towards Dreux and Versailles, the D76 drops to Méré and the Montfort-l’Amaury–Méré station on the Paris-Montparnasse line. The Rambouillet forest begins to the south.
The village streets climb and narrow towards the top, with little room to stop near the church. We agree the pick-up point when the booking is made, often at the bottom of the slope.
