On the third weekend of September, Paris opens the Élysée, Matignon, the Senate, the Banque de France, private mansions and workshops normally closed. A thousand places, queues that start before opening, and sites spread across the whole city.
Scattered places and short slots
A site sometimes opens for three hours across the weekend, and two visits you want can be four kilometres apart, with a queue at each end.
The metro is workable, but the time lost between two stations and two queues quickly turns the weekend into a race.
Taking in two or three sites
The car drops you at the entrance, waits through the visit and takes you to the next. It is exactly the case where a chauffeured car buys you one more visit in the day.
The chauffeur repositions while you are inside, and picks you up at the exit, which is not always the entrance.
What we organise that weekend
Many of our clients host family or friends from outside Paris for these two days, with a programme worked out in advance.
The van keeps the group together, and the car stays at your disposal for half a day or the whole day.
Outside Paris
Heritage Days also cover Versailles, Chantilly, Fontainebleau, Vaux-le-Vicomte and Royaumont, all less than an hour away.
The chauffeur fits the route to the opening slots, which vary from one site to the next.
