Downtown lines up the towers of the oil companies, but the activity is spread across several poles: Uptown and the Galleria to the west, the Museum District and Hermann Park to the south, and above all the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, which draws patients from everywhere.
Space Center Houston, some forty kilometres to the south-east, keeps the Apollo mission control room. The city is lived in by car: the 610 Loop, Beltway 8 and I-45 shape every journey, and the summer is heavy and stormy.
Direct flights to Houston leave Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle and land at George Bush Intercontinental, about thirty-seven kilometres north of downtown. We handle the Paris side of the journey, outbound and inbound, with your flight number on file and waiting time included.
The catch is the two airports, set on opposite sides of the city: Bush Intercontinental to the north for international flights, Hobby to the south-east for much of the domestic traffic. Getting from one to the other crosses the whole metropolitan area. The Amtrak train runs only three times a week; cruises leave from Galveston, eighty kilometres away.
