The town is small and dense: the town hall and Notre-Dame church face each other at the centre, avenue du Général-de-Gaulle and avenue Gallieni cross it, and the Bois de Vincennes opens to the south with the Saint-Mandé lake and its bandstand.
Metro line 1 serves two stations in the commune, the RER A is caught at Vincennes, and the A4 is reached by the Nogent bridge or the porte de Bercy.
Parking is scarce and the avenues are busy at office hours, with bus lanes that limit where a car can stop. We agree the pick-up point when the booking is made, often at the entrance rather than kerbside.
