On the Tour’s final Sunday, the Champs-Élysées closes for the whole day. The finishing circuit runs between the Concorde, the Louvre and the Étoile, and the closed perimeter spreads well into the 1st, 8th and 16th arrondissements.
A perimeter far wider than the avenue
The barriers do not stop at the Champs-Élysées: the Concorde, the Rue de Rivoli, the quays and part of the Avenue de la Grande-Armée are all affected, with filtered pedestrian crossings.
Metro stations inside the perimeter close or become exit-only, and taxis cannot get near. Parking is suspended from Saturday evening.
Morning, afternoon, and getting out
The finishing circuit only arrives late in the afternoon, but the closures start long before. Spectators settle in early, and getting out once the race ends happens in waves.
A chauffeur who drops you at the right entry point to the perimeter, then picks you up at an agreed point away from it, changes the whole day.
What we organise that day
Many of our clients host guests for the finish, with lunch in the 8th and a grandstand seat or a hotel on the avenue.
The car stays at your disposal for the day, and the chauffeur knows which access points are still open at each hour.
The rest of the route
The Tour also passes elsewhere in France for three weeks: we cover journeys to the stage towns and the mountain passes, where roads close several hours before the riders arrive.
The chauffeur anticipates the closures and drops you on the right side of the road, which spares you waiting for it to reopen after the caravan.
