On 21 June, Paris plays outside. Thousands of concerts fill the squares, the courtyards, the café fronts and the stations, from early afternoon until late at night. Whole districts close to traffic, and the metro stays packed well after midnight.
A city cut up district by district
Stages go up in the Marais, at Bastille, in Belleville, in Montmartre, along the quays and in the Latin Quarter. The streets involved close progressively from mid-afternoon.
The traffic plan changes from one hour to the next: what is open at seven is not at ten. It is the kind of evening where the route is decided as you go.
The end of the night, the real problem
Concerts run late, and everyone heads home at once. The stations closest to the stages sometimes close because of the crowds.
A chauffeur waiting at an agreed point on the edge of the zone, at the time you set, saves the night walk and the wait on a packed platform.
What we organise on 21 June
Many of our clients book the car for the whole evening: dinner, two or three concerts in different districts, and home at the time they choose.
The van keeps the group together from one district to the next, and the chauffeur stays directly reachable all evening.
With children or with visitors
The Fête de la Musique also works as a family early evening, with quieter concerts in the gardens and the churches.
The car picks you up at the agreed point before the crowds thicken, which spares the difficult exit with tired children.
