Every year at the end of June, Clisson, seven thousand inhabitants south of Nantes, takes in more than two hundred thousand festival-goers over four days. Hellfest has become the largest metal festival in Europe, and the whole town runs to its rhythm for a week.
A town multiplying its population by thirty
The Hellfest site sits at the edge of Clisson, with the campsites spreading all around. Access roads are filtered and the routes to Nantes saturate at arrival and departure times.
Parking around the site is reserved for camping ticket holders; everyone else parks a long way off, with a long walk to follow.
The end of the night
The programme finishes late, and the shuttles to Nantes do not cover every hour. After four days of festival, nobody wants to drive.
A chauffeur waiting at the agreed point, at the time you set, lets you leave when you decide to, including in the middle of the night.
What we organise in June
We cover journeys from Paris, transfers from Nantes-Atlantique airport and Nantes station, and daily runs between accommodation and the site.
The van keeps the group in one vehicle, takes the camping gear, and the chauffeur stays directly reachable across the four days.
Around Clisson
Clisson itself is worth a visit for its castle and its Italianate quarter, and the Muscadet vineyards start at the edge of town.
The car stays at your disposal from one stop to the next, which leaves you free to break the day between two sets.
