Every year at the start of August, Lorient takes in close to eight hundred thousand people over ten days for the Interceltic Festival. Sunday’s Grand Parade lines up thousands of musicians and dancers from Brittany, Ireland, Scotland, Galicia and Asturias, and the whole town changes rhythm.
A town of sixty thousand taking in ten times that
The port, the Moustoir stadium, the Espace Marine and the submarine base district hold most of the programme. The centre goes pedestrian, and parking disappears over a wide perimeter.
On Grand Parade day, the central roads are cut for several hours. Parking is a matter of luck; being dropped off and picked up is a matter of organisation.
Concerts running late, ten nights in a row
The nuits magiques and the stadium concerts finish late, and the shuttles do not cover all the surrounding towns where festival-goers stay — Ploemeur, Larmor-Plage, Quéven, Hennebont.
A chauffeur waiting at the agreed point, at the time you set, saves the wait and the night walk after a concert.
What we organise during the festival
We cover journeys from Paris, transfers from Lorient station and Lorient-Bretagne Sud airport, and daily runs between accommodation and the festival.
The van keeps the group in one vehicle and the chauffeur stays directly reachable, including late at night.
Around Lorient
Groix, the Étel estuary, Carnac and the Quiberon peninsula are within reach on days between concerts.
The car stays at your disposal from one stop to the next, and the chauffeur drops you at the jetty if you are heading for the island.
